Welcome to Maple Class - Year 1
My name is Miss Martin, and I am the class teacher for Maple, year 1 class. I am supported by, and work with Mrs Towers, who is our brilliant teaching assistant.

Phonics
As a class we have daily phonics lessons developing our understanding of phonics knowledge, progressing in both reading and writing skills.
Reading
Mrs Towers and I ensure that all children have access to reading books, and we will change these weekly when they are placed in the basket within the classroom. In addition to your home reading, we will ensure that every child is heard reading at least once a week.
PE
We have PE twice a week on Tuesday and the other day for the week may change half termly, please keep up to date with dojo messages for any changes, or updates for this. Full PE kits need to be in school daily for these lessons.
